ABOUT ME

Hey there! I'm Jobie (19; he/him) and I go by ChemicalSkyline(s) on most parts of the internet (sometimes character limits wont let me have the plural).

Minecraft!

I've been on the internet for what I'd consider a fair amount of time (since ~2013) so I've dipped my toes into a few online communities/games. However even to this day the game that's had the biggest impact on my life is Minecraft because I met nearly all of my current friends on that game. Mostly through one particular server called Samistine. We all spent a large chunk of time on this server, and in my case it was legitimately the only server I played for a while. There was a plugin on that server that tracked how long you played and my playtime came to 12 weeks, 4 days, and 15 hours by the time the server went under.

As I just mentioned, the server went under which led my friend group to start servers of our own. All of these are long dead by this point but in the short time a lot of these were up we had tons of fun on them. Some of these servers even ended up having lore to them. Nowadays, we still do create new servers for us to play on but we've moved past the lore stuff. Most recently me and my friends did modded together and are in the process of wipping up a creative server.

Lately I've also become "kind of" addicted to playing Guess the Build on Hypixel and I'm actually pretty good at it. To the point people sometimes think I'm cheating and I can't even blame them for thinking that sometimes because my guesses sometimes DO look like cheating.

Beyond Minecraft...

Besides video games like Minecraft I have a big interest in music (obviously) as well as technology. I like anything that sounds good to my ears but my music taste most certainly has a heavy slant towards alt-rock/emo/post-hardcore at the moment, and my top two favorite bands are My Chemical Romance and Thursday. As for tech I'm currently working on getting a certification as a Computer Tech.

I watch a shit ton of YouTube but the YouTuber I watch the most by a large margin is Jerma985. Love that guy. I even have a playlist with a ton of Jerma Compilations on it. Quick shoutout to the jerma comp channel kyle, whose videos are not only well-edited but fully subtitled (and mind you these videos are over an hour long). I'd recommend their "slightly obscure jerma clips" series for anyone who doesn't like seeing the same clips used over and over in Jerma Compilations.

I also play bass in band me and my brother are trying to get rolling (undisclosed for now). We're based out of Louisiana!
