I fucking love my life is a 2019 folk album by Faber. For the first time since my review of Mongol Shuudan's Steam Locomotive Anarchy Reincarnation, I'm reviewing an album that's not in English.

The album's sound can best be described as folky, jazzy, and classical affair. The instrumental interludes on this album use orchestral instrumentation. These are very well executed, and are quite nice to listen to. For the album's main tracks Faber mostly incorporates a “folk” sound, often blending what one would consider the traditional sound of the genre with other genres. For instance, “Highlight” starts off classical and becomes more folkish as the track goes on, while “Generation YouPorn” is a blend of folk and jazz elements, which gives the track an interesting texture. However, some tracks, such as “Nie wieder”, don't follow this formula – in the case of “Nie wieder”, the track is more of a retro-rock, jazzy ordeal. All of this is to say the Faber plays around with texture a fair bit on this album.

Faber's vocals on this album are excellent. Whenever he sings slowly, he has this deep, baritone voice that fits the music he's singing over very well. He's very emotive throughout the album as well, especially during the track “Das Boost ist voll”. When you look at translations of the songs it makes sense why there's so much emotion put into these vocals. A lot of the songs on here revolve around topics that are clearly personal to Faber.

My favorite tracks from I fucking love my life are “Ouverture”, “Jung un dumm”, “Sag mir wie du heisst – Pt. 1”, “Generation YouPorn”, and “Nie wieder.

Overall, I fucking love my life is a great album, having instrumentals that blend folk and several different genres together along with vocals that only add to the variance of texture here.
